Hey everyone I'm Sammy, a 26 year old highland dancer from Corby, England.
I started dancing at the age of 14 and I joined Lesley's school of highland dancing as I had a few friends who danced there.
I done my first competition at age 15 which as you will know is on the older side.
A lot of the dancers I was competing with started around age of 4 therefore I had a lot of practice and hard work to put in if I was going to be of their standard.....
My beginners and novice days were great, I moved up through them quite fast and won quite a few trophies.
I'm now a Premier dancer and in a group with some FABULOUS dancers.
At the beginning of lock down I decided I was going to hang up my dancing pump forever and sell my outfits.
I was going to still continue with lessons for fitness but.......
When I went back after a bit of time out due to health reasons everyone was talking about competitions, new outfits etc and I just felt that my heart was still in it and I missed it so much so now I have gone back to comps and I've bought all new outfits 
( I may be 26 but my time isn't over yet 
)
I love competitions and just dancing in general as it gives me the opportunity to travel and make new friends as well as see old friends. It's such an amazing feeling and gives me such a buzz.
Okay so abit about why I have joined The Highland Dancer.
When the highland dancer first started I was so excited. I was excited that there was somewhere I could get fabulous dance practice clothes and essentials that I could have personalised to me.
I bought so many goodies which I still have to this day after years later.
At the beginning of the year (2022) I was asked by Nikki if I would like to become part of her social media team for a few different pages and I jumped at the chance! This was such an amazing opportunity that I just couldn't turn down (I spend a lot of time on social media anyway so it was very fitting).
I love how she likes to involve people and I have become quite good friends with her. I was then asked if I'd like to become a HD ambassador and well you know what the answer was........ YES!! This was like the best thing I have been asked to do. For a company I love I couldn't wait to be move involved so this was the perfect opportunity for me.
I love how HD is so worldwide and everyone knows about it and how international the ambassadors are - what a great team and so excited to join with them and help with social media to give Nikki the behind the scenes she needs as she is soooo busy all the time :D
I'm looking forward to the future with HD and Nikki to help promote her new clothing and items as well as some old ones.
You will be seeing a lot of me and I cannot wait to work with all the current and new HD ambassadors.
