My teacher is Carolyn Mackenzie Spears however I have previously been taught by Kathleen Higgins, who got me started in highland and Sarah Breckenridge O'Connor, when I live in England for a year in 2016. For me, dancing is not only a passion, but also a stress reliever and a way to stay healthy. I love the creativity, grace and strength required. What has been one of the most exciting things about highland dance is the ability to travel and make friends throughout the world. It's also been amazing to dance with dancers I look up to. One of my most memorable days was the World Championship Qualifiers in 2019. This was 3 months after I tore a ligament in my ankle so being able to dance on that main stage was fantastic but also being on there with the worlds best dancers was unbelievable!
I'm so excited to be joining The Highland Dancer team. I had a few items from them prior to this and they are so comfortable and perfect for practice, competitions and just lounging around. I love that you can personalize things to make them extra special and one of a kind!
