Hello Highland Dance world
I’m Anna. I’m French and my mum has been traveling to Scotland since she was a kid.
So I have been raised in Scottish culture, the legend said I learned to walk in the Botanic Garden in Edinburgh 
My godfather is Scottish.
I’m 17. I just graduated from high school with baccalaureate and I have been accepted in a super famous French university.
I have been doing ballet for 13 years. Everything stopped because of the lockdown. So I started to learn Highland Dance with YouTube and with the help of another highland dancer.
Very quickly, my mum found a highland dance school in Edinburgh. I follow the lessons online and in English.
My hd teacher helped me to get my Rsobhd licence. She is absolutely amazing. And I have now a lot of friends I meet online or in the studio in Edinburgh.
My parents travel with me for every competition. I have done quite a lot in Scotland and I will start in the Mainland now that the pandemic is over (I hope!).

We are working very hard to make highland dance an official dance of the Fédération française de danse (FFD). There is no structure, no official public body as the RSOBHD in France. Most of the dances (break dance, flamenco, ballet etc…) are part of the FFD. They didn’t know highland dance before we talked to them about it.
We don’t know if it’s going to work, but being part of such a project from the start is very exciting! And I can’t thank them enough for the article. It gives a huge visibility to highland dance in France.
I will try to introduce highland dance in my university. I already made some contact…
And there are more super cool projects to come! I will let you know!
