Hey,
I thought I would tell you about my weekend of dancing. I had a busy weekend dancing at Huntly Competition on Saturday, and then Gordon Castle Highland Games on Sunday.
My weekend started on Friday evening when I helped get my outfits ready for the weekend ahead. I needed all outfits this weekend so it took a while. I then helped to make Tuna & Sweetcorn pasta which is my favourite for competitions. I then looked over my book of corrections before heading off to bed.
On Saturday morning we left for Huntly about 10am. I travelled to the competition with my friend Rianne. We arrived about 11.45 so had time for lunch before warming up and getting changed. I warmed up with some of my friends from my dance school and others from some other schools, I love when we get chance to catch up.
I was in the 12 years Premier group which had 14 dancers, my results were 6x1st, 1x3rd and a 4th. I won Highland & National trophies for my group, Overall Premier Highland trophy which I shared with my friend Willow, and I also won Overall Premier dancer. There was a special Hornpipe at the competition where all dancers placed 1st to 6th got a lovely wooden keeper trophy which was an Anchor & Hornpipe Hat, I came 1st so I was really chuffed to get one. I was really pleased with my day.
On Sunday morning I had my breakfast and helped pack my bag for another day of dancing, but this time we too my friend Innes with us to Gordon Castle Highland Games. This was my first Highland Games of the season, I love going to the games. My group was Under 14s Premier, so I think I was the youngest in the group. There were 22 in my group and my results were 1x1st, 1x2nd, 3x3rds and a 4th which would have made me runner up in the group.
I had a great weekend with dancing friends and I am delighted with the trophies and prize money I won.
