All About Ambassador Sophie Brown showcasing her Beautiful Photoshoot

We did an interview with new ambassador Sophie to find out all about her and to showcase her beautiful photos from her photoshoot last August

Here is all about Sophie....

What dance pumps do you wear?

I wear Thistle Glenalmond. They are open toe but i want to change to closed toe.

What's your favourite dance?

My favourite is the fling.

What dance do you struggle with?

I would say the Seann triubhas.

Highland or National?

Highland but i am good at national dances.

Who is your dance idol?

I enjoyed watching all the older girls & my teacher in Australia. But i am looking forward to seeing more dancers here in Scotland!

What is your favourite competition?

I have only done a couple in Scotland but I do like West Park. I loved doing competitions in Australia!

How old were you when you started dancing?

I was only 2 but 7 when i started doing highland more seriously & competing.

Arms up or arms down for the turns in the fling?

Arms down.

PDB or brush brush for the reel?

PDB.

Blue or white hornpipe?

I have a white one.

Red or green jig?

Green with red underneath & green shoes with red details.

What classes do you attend?

Team MacNeil & my teachers name is Fiona. I go on a Tuesday & Thursday in Paisley.

What do you do when competition season is quieter?

I just keep practicing & going to class because i don’t just dance for comps i do it because i love it and it keeps me fit and healthy.

Have you ever won any trophies?

Yes i have 3 shelves full, mostly from Australia!

Where do you keep your trophies and medals?

I have shelves for my trophies. I also have a medal holder which was made for me. I also use a pin board too for the ones that don't have the ribbon to hang up.

What Tartan is your kilt?

I was wearing Red Canadian Lennox in 2021 but i have now just got the Red Bonnie Flame tartan.

What are your goals for 2022?

I have just moved into Intermediate so i am looking forward to doing different dances. I also want to be more confident and i hope i can encourage other people to believe in themselves too!
