Hi my name is Wills Ballantyne
Welcome to my blog I am a male highland dancer and I am 13 years old I have been dancing for about 3 years now.
I am currently dancing in premier where I travel far and wide for competitions I have recently just come back from a week away in Dunoon with my family and danced at Cowal games. It's like our own family reunion with my dads cousin coming over from the Cayman Islands 
to watch me my sister and my cousin dance.
My favourite dance is the Sean truibhas. I struggle the most in the Scottish Measure but working hard still I look up to a lot of male dancers like David Wilton and young dancers like Harry Aiken he looks so happy when he's up on the boards dancing also ex argyle champions and world champions such as Morgan Bamford and Mollie Aiken also a male dancers at home Lewis Armour and Hayden McPhie.
Cowal has definitely been my favourite comp to do the experience was amazing and seeing so many dancers was so awesome. Corby Highland games is my favourite All Englands one of my most important competitions it's my favourite when I go the adrenaline kicks in lol.
I started dancing when I was 11 and got straight into competitions I'm only for months off 14 so I've been dancing for almost 3 years.
I used to turn with my arms up for my turns but I feel I have a lot better control with my arms down. Honestly I don't think about steps I just do what comes to mind when I'm up there.
I dance in a blue horn pipe I'm quite a messy person so a white one wouldn't work for me.
I attend class on a Tuesday and Wednesday that just reminded me it's Tuesday I need to get changed 
.
I used to win a lot in Beginners and Novice but the trophies and medals died down a bit.
My parents brought me a trophy cabinet from IKEA it's looking a bit empty though need to start winning again lol.
I wear the new Bonnie Shadow tartan it's my fav and I think black and blue suits a boy. I have no choice lol both.
Fun fact I can also sing and I am auditioning for the Voice Kids UK 
I have singing lessons at school and I also play a lot of different instruments my next one to learn in the pipes.
I've been playing football since I was 6 it clashes with dancing but I make it work lol.
Favourite shop SportsDirect for football boots or JD for adidas trainers 
and clothing but Gandolfi going shopping for new pumps and cover boots xx
I will be posting on this blog as much as I can and I will always write about competitions x
