Hi everyone,
On Tuesday the 9th of July I arrived in Canada 🇨🇦 My first flight was from Aberdeen to London, then my next flight was London to Canada which was 8 hrs and 24 minutes long we arrived about 9pm so we were all tired.
The next day we went to the Calgary Stampede to watch the rodeo in the afternoon then we went back in the evening to watch the show, it was amazing.
I had an amazing morning the next day by meeting up with Rebecca Thow for breakfast and a catch up it was great to see her (mum forgot to take a photo of us
). I left Calgary that afternoon and drove to Edmonton. The journey was about 4 hours long as we stopped for lunch in Red Deer.
On Friday we unpacked all our stuff and got settled into the house. Later on that night we had a barbecue with family that love in Edmonton , we exchanged some gifts and I got a lovely Canadian Pandora charm, I love it.
Saturday was dancing day! We headed to Sherwood Park Highland Gathering. The weather was really hot and I was not looking forward to dancing in the heat, it was really busy and just like a highland Games in Scotland. The dancing started with choreography and then moved onto highland (there was no nationals which was a relief as it was getting really hot) There was 8 in my group and I won the choreography and got 3x1sts and 1x3rd in highland so I won the group. I got two beautiful plaques and 5 lovely medals. I was delighted. i gad takes some Scottish fridge magnets and gave them to the dancers in my group. We then went back to the house for pizza as it had been a long day.
On Sunday we hosted a big family barbecue so spent the day getting ready for that. It was a great night.
Monday was our last full day in Edmonton so we went to Wedt Edmonton Mall. It’s huge, I managed to get some shopping. We had another family barbecue that night which was fab.
I am really going to miss my canadian family and barbecues.
It’s Tuesday now and we have just left Canada and are currently on our flight to Las Vegas for the USIR 2019🇺🇸 I am so excited and I will do a Vegas blog soon #thehighlanddancer #highlanddance #HD #Canada
