Argyll, Highland Dancing, Inveraray, Inveraray highland games, Kilts -

The Highland Dancer sets off to the Inveraray Highland Games 2016 Scotland

And we are off, OFF to Inveraray Highland Games tomorrow…

www.inveraray-games.co.uk/

Weeks have been spent making the clothes and getting everything just right so we have enough to sell and enough to show as samples, along with fliers, magnets and enough food to feed an army as my two helpers (my wee lads age 9 & 6) come on a wee mini adventure with their mum. If it was not for these two troopers we would not get so much done.

Inveraray is in our back garden of Argyll, living on the Isle of Bute it is just up the road an hour on the mainland after we cross on the 3 minute Rhubodach-  Colintraive ferry crossing at the top of the island just past Lord Altenburg’s old house (which is now up for sale for just under a cool million, should you wish to move here and buy it just google it, move here and pop into day hi at our studio and we will give you a FREE Bute T-shirt to say hi :D).

So the Jeep is packed, the stall is ready to put up and the midge cream has been bought by the bucket load as there is always midges here in Scotland!!  Citronella Candles and incense sticks are a must also – if you don’t have them then get buying them by the bucket load too as you sure will need them!

So… ready to go… up early 5.30am to get an early ferry so we can be there and set up by 8.30am… we are all looking forward to it bar the getting up early bit but as it is the summer the morning will be bright and hopefully sunny although it does say some bad weather is coming our way but we will handle it as we are made of steal and used to the rain, another thing living in Scotland does to you – turns you to steal so you can handle anything :D…  Just got to make the sarnies, fill the flask and get to bed, then it is up and at um….

See you there if you’re going, pop over and say hi…. Nikki

DANCING

Highland dancing consists of three dances; the Highland Fling is said to mimic Red Deer on the hill, the Sword Dance and the Seann Triubhas which is a celebratory dance for the reintroduction of the kilt after its proscription in 1746.
