February so far...
I had a great day away at my first competition of the year in Turriff. It was strange getting all packed up ready to compete again after the break. I travelled through with some dancing friends which was fun. My group was 12 Years Premier with 11 dancers. It was good to get chance to try out some new steps before the Championships start and good to be back competing. I had a good mix of results and came Runner-up in Highland & Runner-up in Nationals. It was great seeing some of my friends again from other dance schools.
Last weekend I attended the BATD North Region Workshop which was really good. We spent time on the new Championship steps and I got some good tips. The workshop was on all day so it was hard work but great fun. In the evening there was a ceilidh organised by the BATD which I went along to with my mum and some dancing friends, we had great fun. The food was lovely and we danced ceilidh dances all night, it was brilliant.
I was dancing at the Le-Ellen Festival in Inverness on Saturday and had a great day. At this competition as a Premier dancer you get the choice to dance 6 steps or 4 steps. I danced the 6 steps so I could dance the new steps and check my fitness before the Championships start. It was really tough getting through them, I though my fitness was getting better after the winter break but I still have a lot of work to do. I managed to get through all the dances and was shared winner of Highland and winner of the Nationals. Well done everyone.
