Hope everyone is well and enjoying dance season! Has everyone enjoyed their summer holidays? Done anything exciting?
My summer holidays are over, but it was great to finally start high school. I’ve had an amazing time these holidays and spent lots of time with my family and friends.
I spent a week on the beach up in Durness and it was so beautiful. One of my best friends Heidi, her Brother Cameron and her Mum Louise took me to join them on their family holiday. Thank you so much for inviting me Louise- I love you lots ️ At the end of the week, our friend Isla and her Mum Sunni joined us for some sleepover fun and to dance at the Durness Gathering. Me being me, I went over my ankle and got sun cream in my eye so only managed one dance. What a disaster! But, I had a great time, watching and supporting my friends, and they did great.
The beginning of August, was Nethy Games, which is always my favourite games. It was during the weather warning, but luck was on our side and the weather was beautiful. Everybody danced beautifully and we all got great placings. I even enjoyed doing my jig lately- so was glad it was one of the dances. Nethy is my favourite games, it’s a bit smaller and always runs so smoothly. Congratulations to my dance teacher Claire, who won the teachers trophy....again!
Last weekend was my Auntie and Uncles wedding and it was great. I was asked to dance to at the beginning of the evening celebrations and I was so pleased! My little cousin Alexa (and Auntie Bex) choreographed a dance to surprise her Mum and it was lovely, I was so proud of her. I danced Highland Laddie, and Flora, which was then followed by Torridon who entertain for the rest of the evening. Congratulations Auntie Fiona and Uncle Gary! I have the D.A.E.S competition (Portree) coming up next in September- I always look forward to it because it means a weekend at my Mums hometown seeing my family. I will have lots of HD stickers with me, so come find me and get some!
